Five years after their mother, Nora Wilder, mysteriously vanished, estranged sisters Zadie and Finn reunite. Zadie, the older sister, is a reluctant psychic who experiences premonitions she’d rather ignore, while Finn possesses the ability to experience "echoes"—vivid fragments of other people's memories. When Finn is seized by a powerful echo belonging to their mother, she convinces a skeptical Zadie to embark on a cross-country road trip to retrace Nora’s final steps. As they follow the trail of her past, the sisters must confront the secrets that tore their family apart and the personal gifts that have shaped their lives.
