The Outsiders

Set in 1960s Oklahoma, the story follows fourteen-year-old Ponyboy Curtis, a member of the "Greasers"—a group of lower-class teenagers defined by their tough exterior and their ongoing, often violent rivalry with the "Socs," the wealthy kids from the other side of town. When a confrontation goes tragically wrong, Ponyboy and his best friend Johnny are forced to flee, setting off a chain of events that compels them to reexamine their place in the world and the deep, often painful bonds of brotherhood.
