Ghosts of Honolulu

Set in 1941, Hawaii is a "battleground of spies" long before the first bomb falls. The narrative follows two men "toiling in the shadows": Douglas Wada, the first Japanese American agent in naval intelligence, and Takeo Yoshikawa, a Japanese spy sent to Pearl Harbor. Wada operates undercover as a reporter and interrogator, while Yoshikawa gathers the vital intel that would lead to the Day of Infamy. It’s a true-life cat-and-mouse game where the residents of Honolulu are "caught in the upheaval" between dueling empires.
