Blood Accusation: The Strange History of the Beiliss Case

On a Sunday morning in 1911 the viciously mutilated body of a young boy was found in a cave on the outskirts of the city of Kiev, Russia. Four months later a Jewish workman, Mendel Beiliss, was arrested & charged with having murdered the boy in order to use his blood to make matzos for Passover. Thus began one of the most bizarre & extraordinary frame-ups in modern history.
